Most people start with a free discovery call. It is short, no-obligation, and the right place to confirm that Family Dispute Resolution is the right path for your circumstances before committing to anything.
If you have already had a discovery call and have agreed to proceed, the next step is your private intake session. Each party attends their own intake session separately with your practitioner so both sessions are complete. Details are below.
Step 1
Free discovery call
Online via Google Meet
A short, no-obligation conversation to confirm that FDR is the right path for your situation. We ask a few brief questions about your circumstances, answer any questions you have about how the process works, and give you a clear picture of what is involved.
You leave the call with a clear understanding of whether FDR is appropriate for your matter and what the next steps would look like. No payment required.
1 hourOnline via Google MeetHeld privately with each party
The intake session is private and confidential. Attended by you alone with the practitioner. The other party attends their own intake session separately. Both intake sessions are required before any joint session can be scheduled.
This is your chance to speak candidly about your situation, what you need from the process, and what you hope to achieve. The practitioner uses this session to assess whether the matter is suitable for joint mediation, and to identify any safety concerns or substantive matters that may need to be in the room.
The session fee is confirmed during your discovery call and is shown at the time of booking. Payment is taken at booking and secures your time slot.
4hrs parenting / 3hrs financialOnline via Google MeetBoth parties attend together
Joint sessions are scheduled directly between you, the other party, and your practitioner once both intake sessions are complete. They are not booked through this page.
Once a time is agreed, your practitioner sends each party a private payment link by email. Each party pays their own share separately. The session is confirmed once both parties have settled their payment.
Parenting sessions run for four hours and financial sessions run for three hours. Payment is taken in advance for the full scheduled hours. If the session finishes early, the unused time is refunded automatically. You only ever pay for the time actually used.
Arranged with your practitioner after intake.
